Zack Solly joins the FSU coaching staff after a standout career on the diamond for the Fighting Falcons. He will serve as the team's pitching coach.
Solly, one of the most prolific hitters in school history, became the first player in school history to earn All-America honors last season. He was named second team All-America by Daktronics and honorable mention All-America honors from the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA). Solly put together one of the most impressive seasons in school history batting .484 with 10 home runs, 14 doubles and 50 RBI. He ranked third nationally in batting average, fourth in on-base percentage and fifth in slugging. In addition to those offensive numbers, he committed just five errors at first base and picked up five saves on the mound for the Falcons.
For his career, Solly batted .374 with 29 home runs. He drove in 142 runs during his career and had a slugging percentage of .627.
