As A Junior (2008): Emerged as a leader on the Fairmont State defense … first team All-WVIAC and second team  all-region selection … led Fairmont State in total tackles with 93 … second on the team with 45 solo stops … recorded 13 tackles for a loss, including one sack … broke up three passes and recorded one interception … forced two fumbles and recovered one … season-high 14 total tackles (five solo), including two for a loss, in win over Lake Erie (9/6) … 11 total stops, including five for a loss, against WV State (9/13) … season-high eight solo tackles against Glenville State (9/25) … also forced two fumbles and broke up two passes against the Pioneers … nine total tackles (two for a loss) against West Liberty (10/2) … matched season-high with 11 total tackles against Charleston (10/11) … grabbed an interception against WV Wesleyan (10/25).

As A Sophomore (2007): Played in 11 games … tallied 48 tackles including 29 solo … also added seven tackles for loss … had season-high eight tackles (four solo) at West Liberty (10/6) … grabbed interception at West Virginia Wesleyan (10/27).

As A Freshman (2006): Played in all 11 games for the Falcons … made 35 tackles, including 15 solo … also added three tackles for a loss … had season-high four solo tackles against WV State (9/23) … also forced a fumble against the Yellow Jackets … had season-high nine assisted tackles in win over Charleston (10/21).

Before Fairmont State: Four-year letterman in football and basketball at Parkersburg Catholic ... rushed for over 2,100 yards and scored 344 career points (West Virginia state record) ... two-time all-state selection ... was named state team captain as a senior after leading the Crusaders to a 9-3 record and the second round of the state playoffs ... also selected as conference player of the year ... helped Parkersburg Catholic to the state playoffs in each of his four seasons ... also a standout on the hardwood ... scored over 1,000 points and led the Crusaders to the state tournament all four seasons.

Personal: Nate Cole Black ... born April 26, 1986 ... son of Sheri and Gregg Black ... one of three children ... brother Luke also play football for Fairmont State ... father played football for Marietta College ... majoring in business marketing.
