Mary Mlinarcik, a former three-time All-WVIAC honoree as a runner at Fairmont State, is the head coach of the men's and women's cross country teams. She has coached Falcon cross country since 1998.
Mlinarcik graduated from Fairmont State in 1993 with a degree in physical education and health. She earned all-conference accolades as a cross country runner for the Falcons in 1989, 1990 and 1991. She earned her master's degree in health education from West Virginia University in 1997.
Mlinarcik, who is a teacher in the Marion County School System, has coached boys and girls cross country at both East Fairmont High School and Fairmont Senior High School.
An avid runner, Mlinarcik has run in numerous road races and has 28 marathons to her credit. She also teaches aerobics and enjoys mountain biking.
She is married to Joe Mlinarcik and has two sons, Joey and Jarrod, and one grandson, Jacob.
