Doug Comer

Doug Comer serves as the director of golf at Fairmont State University. He has coached the women's program since 2007 and took over the reigns of the men's program in January 2009.

Since taking over the women's program, Comer has helped the program progress up the WVIAC standings. As the head coach of the men's program, Comer led the Falcons at the NCAA Tournament in Blaine, Wash., and has helped keep FSU at the top of the heap in the WVIAC and the NCAA East Region.

Comer is a member of the PGA and a 10-year veteran in the golf industry. He has served as the head pro at the Fairmont Field Club and also assisted Fairmont Senior High School as a volunteer coach. Prior to his time at the Fairmont Field Club, Comer spent six years as the first assistant at Edgewood Country Club outside of Pittsburgh.

He is a 1992 graduate of West Virginia University with a degree in finance and a minor in management. Comer graduated from Liberty High School were he was a standout on the golf team. He was runner-up in the Big 10 golf tournament as a senior and helped the team two regional tournaments.
