Baylor Pulls Away in Tumbling & Team Routine

FAIRMONT, W.Va. – After going into halftime with a slim 97.05-95.95 lead, Baylor pulled away in the final two events to down Fairmont State, 285.010-270.595, on Wednesday evening at Joe Retton Arena.
 
FSU was edged by less than a point in each of the first two events before defeating the Bears in the Pyramid event right before halftime. FSU recorded a higher score in two of the three heats in the pyramids.
 
Baylor's lowest score of the event was 9.40 as the Bears scored a 9.450 or higher in each of the tumbling heats to gain a sizable margin. The Bears then outscored FSU 100.51-94.82 in the team routines to wrap up the evening.
 
Fairmont State recorded a season-high score of 270.595 on the evening, including a 94.82 in the team routine.
 
The Falcons will now travel out west for a dual meet against Oregon on Friday, March 17 in Eugene.
