FSU Falls To WJU, Tops D&E

FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- Fairmont State's men's and women's swimming teams fell to Wheeling Jesuit on Friday but bounced back with wins over Davis & Elkins on Saturday in dual meet action.

The Cardinal women defeated FSU, 125-96, while the Wheeling Jesuit men came away with a slim 136-121 victory. Fairmont State's women then handed D&E an 82-19 defeat, and the men won 104-57 over the Senators.

On Friday against the Cardinals, Kathryn Saurborn (100 free), Pasko Komadino (200 free) and Nurettin Erhan (100 fly, 200 fly) each set pool records at at WJU's Alma Grace McDonough Center. On Saturday at Davis & Elkins, the Falcons established new pool records in seven events: Saurborn (100 breast), Erhan (100 breast, 200 breast), Michelle Stambaugh (1000 free), David Dent (200 free), Cassie Annan (200 breast) and Emir Altigan, Atanas Madolev, Josh Barton and Dent (200 medley relay).
