FSU Splits Matches In Day 1 At Falcon Fest

FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- Fairmont State lost its opener to Edinboro, 3-0, but the Falcons rebounded to pick up a 3-0 win over Notre Dame College in the first day of the Falcon Fest Tournament.

The Fighting Scots defeated FSU by scores of 25-16, 25-20 and 25-21. Edinboro was paced by 15 kills from Gina Booth. The Falcons were led by Haley Lippert's seven kills and six from freshman Bri Swann. Jessica Seevers had 13 assists and Morgan Walls contributed 12 digs.

The Falcons rebounded by edging Notre Dame in three games, 26-24, 25-20 and 25-23. Lippert led the way with 15 kills and Seevers dished out 26 assists. Swann added eight kills for FSU. Notre Dame's Brianne Schmansky led the team with six kills and Taylor Pugliese had 32 assists.
