FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- Fairmont State won both games on the second day of Falcon Fest, defeating Chowan 3-0 and Point Park 3-2.
The Falcons defeated the Hawks 3-0 by scores of 25-16, 25-17 and 25-19. Haley Lippert led the way with 14 kills and Theresa Zapach added eight. Jessica Seevers had 32 assists in the victory. Chowan was led by 10 kills apiece from Victoria Lewis and Karina Monroe.
FSU pulled out a hard-fought 3-2 win over Point Park winning in five sets, 16-25, 25-23, 25-18, 18-25 and 15-13. Lippert again led the way with 17 kills. Aushia Beavers had a solid overall game with 10 kills, 15 digs and 22 assists. Seevers had a team-high 28 assists and Morgan Walls added 20 digs.
The Falcons will be back in action next week at a tournament in Mount Olive.
