SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. -- Fairmont State's women's cross country team completed its 2011 season by competing at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals at Slippery Rock on Saturday.
The Falcons finished the meet in 23rd place with 678 points. Fairmont State was led by Laura Horning in 124th place covering the 6k course in 26:44. She was followed by Lacee Fulton in 129th (26:58), Ashley Hamrick in 136th (27:23), Caycee Guthrie in 143rd (28:18), Marie Friend in 146th (28:24), Haley Baird in 152nd (28:52) and Alana Coen in 155th (30:36).
Shippensburg won the meet with 50 points, and will advance to the national meet along with runner-up Lock Haven (108 points) and third-place finisher Bloomsburg (134). Individual qualifers were Brenae Edwards (Mansfield) and Corrinne Fitzgerald (East Stroudsburg).
