Janet Floyd begins her fourth season as head coach of the Fairmont State women's tennis team. Prior to her appointment in 2008, Floyd spent the previous two seasons assisting former coach Ken Miller.
Last season, the Falcons posted a winning record (8-7) overall and finished sixth in the WVIAC with a 4-5 mark in league play.
In 2009-10, the Falcons posted a 6-7 overall record and finished sixth in the WVIAC with a mark of 4-5. In her first season as head coach FSU also placed sixth in the conference.
A Fairmont native, Floyd played tennis at Fairmont State for legendary coach Dr. Bill Haines. She earned a bachelor's degree in operations management and a master's degree in business administration, each from West Virginia University.
In addition to her coaching duties, Floyd serves as an adjunct professor in the business and marketing departments at Fairmont State and West Virginia. She has taught at the collegiate level for 12 years.
Janet and her husband Brian reside in Fairmont with their children, Michael and Hannah.
